Then sings my soul...

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

-"How Great Thou Art"
God displays His goodness, greatness, and grace in everything around us.  His glory is obvious in the big things, but sometimes His glory comes unexpectedly through the ordinary.  There have been seemingly simple moments in my life where I simultaneously felt like laughing, crying, and screaming--all out of sheer joy for what God created.

One of these unfortunately rare moments came just a few days ago.  I was rocking my son to sleep and instead of receiving a baby yawn for my mothering efforts I received a huge smile and a little coo.  He looked up at me with pure contentment and joy.  My soul sang.  I laughed, got teary-eyed, and squealed back in delight.  This overflow of joy still wasn't enough to keep me from feeling like I might explode from the pent-up emotion.  I said a quick prayer out loud, praising God for my son.  Acknowledging the work of God's hand was the only real way to express my utter joy.

God is good and reveals His goodness and awesomeness to us in personal ways.  Whether it's through a dark night glittering with stars, the physical rumbling of a thunderstorm, or just the sweet smile of an innocent baby, God shows us His goodness everyday and conducts our souls into song.
