Think about such things...

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

-Frederick Lehman (1917)

God's love for us is so great that were we all tasked with writing about it, we would run out of materials and space on which to do so!  AND...God is so incredible that he gifted Frederick Lehman with being able to write such beautiful words!

We like lists...

Yes, we do!  We like lists, how 'bout you?

For one of Hubby's recent dets, he felt the need to make a packing list for himself.

Yes, this is normal for around here.

In a magazine...

Whoa! I'm in a magazine!

Military Spouse Magazine listed this blog in their March 2010 issue as one of the military blogs "they like!"  Thank you so much to Sara Horn and Military Spouse Magazine for the recognition, and to some of my great readers for tipping me off about this!  I feel truly honored and humbled!

Valentine's Day...

This past Valentine's Day was a very special time for Hubby and me.  Normally we don't believe in celebrating on this particular day, but this year we decided to make it a little festive.  I made chocolate-covered strawberries, (I say I "made" them, but I really just heated up chocolate and dipped the fruit in it.) and I bought a special bottle of bubbly.  Hubby filled our glasses and we made a toast: "To one year in one place!"

We celebrated the anniversary of living in our current duty station for one whole year!  This is a huge deal for us since this is by far the longest we have lived anywhere together.  Our previous stints at duty stations have been 8 months, 3 months, and 8 months.

This is such a great accomplishment (in a very strange way) and made for a very special Valentine's Day celebration!
